PROSIM is delivered with a sample model scenario, which sets up for you a pre-defined experiment of 6 Factors (inputs) and 3 Responses (outputs). You can vary each of the 6 input Factors - Temperature, Time, Concentration, Stirring Rate, Equivalent of Reagent, Feed Rate - and examine the effect on the 3 output Responses - Resulting Product, Remaining Start Material, Impurity. When you first install PROSIM, the sample model scenario is pre-set as the default and it is automatically loaded when you start PROSIM.
Start PROSIM. The Run Scenario window is displayed.
Choose your own values for the input Process Variables, by using the slider bars.
Click the Run Experiment button
View the result of your run in the Process Outputs section on the right-hand side of the window. The results for each of the output Responses are shown (colour-coded against the Criteria for Success for the experiment; red=fail, green=pass).
Now choose a new set of values for the input variables and re-run the experiment by clicking the Run Experiment button again. Review your new results!
Continue to rerun the experiment to explore the behaviour of the model scenario. The results of each of your runs are saved in the Results Table. Click Analysis>View Results Table to see them.
Now you are ready to explore some of the other features
of ProSim.
