PROSIM comes either as a download from the PRISMTC website, or on CD. There is no functional difference between the 30-day evaluation version and the full licence version. If you are downloading the evaluation version, you'll be sent a licence key code that simply expires after 30 days. You need to enter your email address during the download procedure in order to receive the licence key code. This is the only reason we need your email address. We won't pass it to any third parties and we won't send you junk mail. If you purchase a full licence for PROSIM then, once we receive your payment, we send you a full licence key code that removes the 30-day limit.
Windows XP is a pre-requisite. PROSIM is not available for the Mac (sorry!). The PROSIM installation program installs and updates a number of DLLs. We recommend that you save all open files/documents and close all programs - apart from Internet Explorer (IE), if required - before installing PROSIM. The default directory for PROSIM 2.2 is C:\Program Files\ProSim22. If you are upgrading from a previous version, this enables you to set up the new version of PROSIM alongside your previous version (for testing, phased cutover etc).
Once you have clicked to download the PROSIM software, you will be offered the choice to Run or to Save the installation file. Running the file will allow you to install PROSIM now on your PC. Saving the file will allow you to download the file to a location of your choice on your PC for subsequent installation at a time of your choosing. If you choose to Save the file then, when you are ready to install the software, you should locate the saved file ProSim v2.2.msi on your PC, and then double-click on the file ProSim v2.2.msi to start the PROSIM Installation Wizard. This will guide you through the installation process and allow you to change the default directory for PROSIM if required. Once the installation process has finished and you start PROSIM for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your licence key code (which will have been sent to the email address that you supplied at download time). PROSIM is now ready to use.
Insert the CD into your CD drive and the PROSIM installation program will start automatically. If the installation program does not start automatically then, from Windows Explorer, double-click on the file ProSim v2.2.msi in the root directory of the CD to start the PROSIM Installation Wizard. This will guide you through the installation process and allow you to change the default directory for PROSIM if required. Once the installation process has finished and you start PROSIM for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your licence key code (which will have been sent to you by email). PROSIM is now ready to use.
To uninstall PROSIM, go to My Computer \ Control Panel \ Add/Remove Programs. Locate and select PROSIM on the list of installed programs. Select Add/Remove, and follow the prompts.
